The Nurse Practitioner will perform duties related to ULPS practice in Pediatric Genetics. This position functions as an Advanced Practice Nurse collaboratively with physician providing leadership of the clinical care team and acts as a change agent for a specific patient population by incorporating the role of clinical expert, role model, consultant, educator, ! practitioner, researcher, and nurse leader.
DUTIES! AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide clinical expertise to individual patients/families and/or groups of patients/families by providing direct and indirect patient care.
2. Collaborate with the health care team in assessing, designing, implementing, and evaluating population-based programs of patient care to enhance high quality-cost effective patient outcomes.
3. Provide leadership in education and clinical staff development; collaborate with other health professionals and education resources to establish education programs to address specific needs of populations of patients.
4. Demonstrate collaborative leadership with researchers, other health professionals, divisions, and departments to generate knowledge and make practice changes based on research findings.
5. Provide leadership in meeting system, organization, division, and department goals.
6. Demonstrate accountability for professional responsibilities and self-deve! lopment.
7. Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s Degree or higher in a nursing specialty; current licensure as RN and APN in Tennessee; current DEA certification; three (3) years of general nursing experience of clinical practice at the RN level; Pediatric Acute care Nurse Practitioner Certification or Family Nurse Practitioner (previous experience with medical genetics preferred ).
Candidate should have an interest in genetic type patients and issues or willing to learn; must be proficient with Cerner InPT, and when introduced Cerner OP EMR; must become familiar with TouchWorks EMR. Must be able to react quickly to emergency situations. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
THIS IS A CONTRACT FUNDED POSITION. (TRANSCRIPTS AND PROOF OF CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED)
SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience.
