Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room
TriStar Horizon, a fully a! ccredited 157 - bed community-based medical center, provides medical, surgical, obstetrical, emergency, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient services and a regional cancer center offering radiation oncology. Horizon has proudly provided quality healthcare to Dickson and surrounding counties for more than 50 years. Starting with a small group of doctors in 1958, TriStar Horizon medical staff has grown to over 300 members representing more than 20 specialties. All are board certified or board eligible.
TriStar Horizon Medical Center is currently looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room
Responsibilities:
Performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Performs the primary function of assessing, planning, and evaluating the perioperative care of all assigned patients, infancy through life span in the Operating Room.
The OR RN is responsible for meeting the established policies/standards of practice! for this facility, for managing all assigned nursing personne! l, supplies and equipment in the Operating Room.
Promotes teamwork with surgery personnel, surgeons, anesthesia department personnel and personnel from other departments.
The OR RN will be cross trained/oriented to PACU and ENDO.
Participates in Performance Improvement Activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement.
Maintains cultural and diversity awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
Promotes a supportive, team-work oriented environment.
Fulfills departmental responsibilities with the long-range plan, mission, vision and values of Horizon.
Qualifications:
Minimum one-year experience as Peri-operative nurse required.
Current TN RN license required.
Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required within 90 days of hire
ACLS and
PALS required within 1 year of hire
CNOR preferred.
