This job is responsible for providing direct assistance to the technologists. An incumbent is responsible for transporting patients to specified locations as directed in accordance with established MBO standards and procedures and under the direction of the assigned department manager.
Tasks are assigned by staff in clear, detailed and specific instructions. Employees work as instructed and seek guidance on matters not specifically covered in the original instructions. Work is reviewed through progress checks for accuracy, adequacy and adherence to standards, instructions and established procedures.
Essential Duties:
Transports patients to and from the imaging department in a manner conducive to patient safety and comfort; performs basic patient care activities as directed by management or nursing staff in accordance with standards of care and scope of practice; hooks and unhooks patients from medical equipment (e.g. telemetry, oxygen, suction, etc); returns all equipment after transport (ie. wheelchair, stretcher).
Restocks linen supplies in all areas of the department and secures and returns supplies; processes film by automatic processing as needed.
Performs administrative responsibilities and maintains records as directed.
Qualifications
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Experience:
Six months of related work experience.
License/Certification:
Current BLS Certification.
