Patient Flow Coordinator

Location: Madison Tennessee

Description: Skyline Madison Campus is presently looking of Patient Flow Coordinator right now, this career will be placed in Tennessee. Coordinates and allocates the response of EMS resources utilizing computer and telephone technology to effectively reduce patient care delays associated with transfer processes by determining ! emergent / non-emergent resource allocation; and notifying the appropriate ground or air dispatch center for response to needed services. Assist Transfer Center staff as requested.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Provide high quality customer service to all customers of the Transfer Center.
• Coordinates transfer of emergent, urgent and elective patients from all potential referral sources including but not limited to hospitals, clinics, Nursing Homes, and physician offices.
• Performs computer entry of information received into the CAD system and utilizes the mapping system to locate the closest appropriate EMS resource.

o Determines the nature and location of requests.

o Determines priority and dispatches the appropriate Transportation resource.

o Receives and processes information on a continual basis with numerous helicopter and ambulances already on transports.

o Notify the appropri! ate helicopter or ground dispatch center of a request and rela! y all pertinent transport information.

• Documents transport activities accurately in the Transfer Center and applicable Dispatch databases.
• Performs a full range of telephone, computer, and/or radio operational duties.
• Provides input into Transfer Center processes and protocols to improve patient access across the system.
• Demonstrates knowledge of local, State, and Federal regulatory requirements, HCA Ethics and Compliance policies; and ensures compliance standards are met or exceeded at all times.
• Adheres to established policy and procedure and standards of care; escalates issues through the established Chain of Command in a timely manner
• Assist with other Transfer Center functions as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education:

o High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required

• Training:

o Licensed Emergency Medical Technician in the State of Tennessee!

o EMD (Emergcny Medical Dispatch) preferred

o Current CPR Certification

• Skills:

o Detail Oriented

o Ability to multi-task

o Ability to function in a fast paced, at times high stress, work environment

o Computer literate â€" understands database navigation and online clinical documentation

o Working knowledge of protocol driven EMS dispatch

• Experience:

o Prior Communications Center experience preferred, but not required

o Previous clerical, administrative, or general office experience preferred

o Two years experience in healthcare setting.

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE â€"

• Licensed Emergency Medical Technician in the State of Tennessee
