The successful candidate will be comfortable working indepently without the physic! al presence of a Physician at the practice full-time. The candidate will be experienced in reading X-rays, EKG, and working with other diagnostic equipment.
This site will be a Corporate run practice model utilizing a Mid-Level (NP or PA) Practitioner for patient encounters and to manage the patient load. The NP/PA will report to the Medical Director assigned to this location.
Example of Duties: (List does not include all duties assigned)
Triages nursing and family telephone calls and provides consultation.
Performs complete physical exams, obtains complete medical histories, and records findings.
Orders (and, as appropriate, performs) appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
Determines preliminary diagnoses and therapeutic plans by obtaining, interpreting, and integrating data.
Administers medications and injections in compliance with state law and hospital guidelines.
Instructs patient/family regarding medicat! ions and treatments.
Educates patients regarding health an! d illness prevention.
Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
Will need to manage acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
Posts tests and examination results.
NP - Nursing Practitioner / PA - Physician Assistant
EDUCATION: Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
EXPERIENCE: Two to five years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with previous BSN experience preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Current Advanced Practical Nurse with Family Practice certification or current Physician Assistant certification.
