The Director of Perioperative Services is a professional nurse and leader for specified or assigned unit(s); responsible for the patient population and assigned nursing and ancillary staff. They plan, o! rganize, direct, coordinate and evaluate the activities that take place on their assigned unit(s). The Director of Perioperative Services shall be responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care, maintaining required staffing and acting as a liaison between hospital administration and the staff in the surgical suites and PACU, ENDO, SDS, and Central Sterile Processing. They provide direction, support and guidance to the nurses and other staff, with 24-hour accountability for assigned unit(s). The Director conveys to the Perioperative Department staff the organization’s mission.
Qualifications
Education/License/Certification:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Currently licensed in the State of Tennessee as a RN and in good standing.
Bachelors of Nursing required
Masters of Nursing preferred
Experience/Skills:
previous director of perioperative services experience or 2-3 years man! ager experience.
Highly developed verbal and written ! communication skills.
Attention to detail and concentration
Ability to work in fast-paced, ever-changing environment
