Since 1994, more than 21000 heart catheterizations have been performed, along with over 2100 open-heart surgeries and a full range of countless other cardiac procedures and services. Because successful treatment is often time-critical, The Heart Center is always open. This position assists with the management of CV Service Line patients. In this role, the Nurse Practitioner will assist with patients that have been admitted into the CV Service by the cardiologists or CV surgeons or when the CV Service Line Physicians have been consulted by other physicians. The Nurse Practitioner may ass! ist the CV Service Line Physicians with admission of patients, patient rounds, consults, history and physicals, discharges and other duties with their scope of practice. Demonstrates a knowledge of the psychosocial needs, clinical assessment implications, and/or consequences of technology
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing Masters program. Evidence of continuing education. Current unrestricted Tennessee licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse and RN. Must hold a national Certification in a Nursing Specialty Area.
EXPERIENCE: Prefer 1-3 years NP experience with cardiac patients in acute hospital setting. Previous experience as RN in ICU or cardiac step-down.
SKILLS: ACLS, Prescriptive Authority (DEA Number), proficient in clinical skills of assessment of Cardiac patients. Abides by agreed upon protocol for patient care and possess good communication skills. Knowledge and understanding of compute! r use.
This is strictly a floor position. They support nine ca! rdiologists. No call (subject to change). We currently have three. This is an addition.
